Frequently Asked Questions

What's the difference between "Maturing" and "Digital-First"?

"Maturing" means you've successfully implemented digital practices and see business results. "Digital-First" means digital thinking is embedded in strategy, culture, and operations - you innovate digitally first, not as an afterthought. Most large companies are "Maturing" (60-80). Very few are full "Digital-First" (81-100).

How long does digital transformation typically take?

Based on this assessment: "Traditional" to "Developing" takes 6-12 months. "Developing" to "Maturing" takes 12-24 months. "Maturing" to "Digital-First" takes 24+ months. The timeline depends on investment, team capability, and organizational appetite for change. Full transformation usually requires 2-3 years.

If we only improve one pillar, which should we choose?

Our recommendation engine prioritizes based on your specific gaps. Typically: Strategy & Leadership should come first (it enables everything else), followed by Technology infrastructure (it's a prerequisite for operations). But this depends on your situation - review the detailed recommendations section.

Do we need to improve all pillars equally?

No. Different industries have different priorities. Customer-facing businesses prioritize Customer Experience + Technology. B2B operations focus on Operations + Technology. The key is identifying your "critical path" - the sequence of improvements that unlock the most value.

What if our executive team isn't aligned on digital transformation?

This is the #1 blocker we see. If Strategy & Leadership score is below 40, we recommend: (a) Executive workshop on digital imperatives, (b) Competitive benchmarking to show how peers are transforming, (c) Customer feedback showing digital expectations, (d) Hiring an external advisor to make the case. Strategy alignment comes before execution.

How do we measure success - what KPIs matter most?

The assessment generates personalized KPIs based on your profile. Common ones: customer NPS (experience), automation rate (operations), cloud adoption percentage (technology), training completion (culture). Set 3-5 KPIs per pillar, measure monthly, report quarterly. Visible progress builds momentum.

Should we hire a transformation leader?

Many companies bring in a Chief Digital Officer or Chief Transformation Officer, especially if the current score is below 60. This role accelerates transformation by 30-40% and helps maintain focus. But you also need grassroots adoption - top-down mandate isn't enough. Ideal: external advisor + internal champion + team engagement.
