What n8n enterprise automation involves

What it is

Scale in n8n is mostly architecture. Queue mode splits the main process from workers that pull jobs from Redis, and PostgreSQL replaces the default database. That lets you add workers for load and restart parts without stopping everything.

Governance is the other half. Who can edit production workflows, how changes move from development to production, where secrets live and how you see failures. Some access-control features, such as SSO and advanced roles, depend on n8n's paid plans. We tell you which apply before you commit, and check the current n8n documentation for each.

We do not claim n8n or our services carry a compliance certification. We build the controls your auditors ask about and document them.

Is this the right fit?

Fit check

Where this wins

High-volume workloads

Thousands of executions an hour where a single process becomes the bottleneck.

Regulated or audited teams

Where change control, access roles and execution logs are requirements.

Teams that need self-hosting for data reasons

Workflows run inside your own cloud account with data staying in your boundary.

  • High-volume workloads Thousands of executions an hour where a single process becomes the bottleneck.
  • Regulated or audited teams Where change control, access roles and execution logs are requirements.
  • Teams that need self-hosting for data reasons Workflows run inside your own cloud account with data staying in your boundary.

When NOT to use this

  • You run a few dozen light workflows. A simple single-node setup with backups is enough.
  • You need a vendor-managed SLA. Self-hosted n8n needs an operator, and that is either us or your team.
  • Your workloads are mostly bulk data pipelines. A dedicated data tool fits better.

How a scaled n8n setup is delivered

How it works

Measure the load, design the setup, migrate in stages and test failure before it happens for real.

Typical timeline

Six to ten weeks to a migrated, tested setup, scoped after the discovery call

Stack we build with

Load and risk assessment

Measure execution volume, peak load, data sensitivity and current failure points.

Architecture design

Design queue mode, workers, database, high availability, environments and access roles.

Build the platform

Stand up the environments with secrets handling, backups and monitoring.

Migrate and test failure

Move workflows in stages, then test worker loss, restore from backup and a bad deploy.

Operate

Updates, monitoring and monthly review under a maintenance plan, or handoff with a runbook.

Results from comparable work

Results

Achieved results from related engineering work. They show the operating standard, not scale claims about n8n specifically.

Electronic invoicing and subcontractor VAT compliance automated end to end, plus an AI that answers far more inbound calls and leads than the team could handle manually. The client captured roughly €1.3M in revenue over six months, largely from customers who found them through AI search tools.

Delivery notes and invoices are read and matched automatically. Only the genuinely unclear cases reach a person, and the review team went from re-typing everything to spot-checking exceptions.

Three portals plus the matching engine delivered, with strict data separation kept between universities.

How this is priced

Pricing

Priced per project and scoped after a short discovery call, not sold as a fixed package. Cost follows the number of systems, the access model and the security requirements.

Scoped build

Scoped after a discovery call

Most engagements start with one narrow, high-value piece so you see it running in production before anything expands.

What is enterprise automation?

Enterprise automation is running business processes across several teams and systems on one governed platform, instead of each team keeping its own scripts. It adds what single-team automation skips: access roles, secrets handling, change control between environments, execution logs, and a setup that keeps running when one part fails. On n8n that means queue mode with workers on PostgreSQL, designed for high availability.

How do you set up high availability for self-hosted n8n?

Run n8n in queue mode: the main process hands executions to a Redis queue, several workers pull from it, and PostgreSQL stores workflows and execution data. Run more than one worker so losing one does not stop executions, back up PostgreSQL and test a restore, then test worker loss and a bad deploy before production. Which HA options your plan includes changes over time, so we check n8n's current documentation with you first.

What is queue mode?

It separates the main n8n process from worker processes. Workers pull executions from a Redis queue, so you can add workers for load and restart them without stopping the whole system. It runs with PostgreSQL as the database.

Which access features need a paid n8n plan?

Some features such as SSO and advanced role controls depend on n8n's paid plans. Plans change, so we check n8n's current documentation with you before design and tell you what applies.

Are you SOC 2 certified, or is n8n?

We do not claim certifications we cannot show. We build controls such as access roles, change control and logs that your auditors can review, and we document them.

What does it cost?

Scoped after a discovery call, because it depends on volume, availability needs and the number of workflows to migrate. Infrastructure costs are yours and depend on your cloud.

Who runs it after go-live?

Your team from our runbook, or us under a maintenance plan covering updates, monitoring and fixes.
