Frequently Asked Questions
How is my AI governance maturity level calculated?
Each of the 12 questions scores 0 to 4, matching the same 5-level model used across our governance content: Ad Hoc, Aware, Defined, Managed, Optimizing. Your answers are averaged per pillar, then averaged again across all 6 pillars for your overall level. Nothing is sent anywhere, the scoring runs in your browser.
What are the six pillars this assessment covers?
Accountability, transparency, risk management, data governance, model lifecycle, and human oversight. These are the same six pillars covered in our AI governance framework guide, so your score maps directly onto that model.
Is this assessment specific to a regulation like the EU AI Act or NIST?
No. It measures operational maturity, whether governance is actually practiced, not compliance with a specific law or framework. A company can score well here and still have specific regulatory gaps, and vice versa. Treat this as a starting point, not a compliance audit.
Do I need to give my email to see my results?
No. Results appear immediately after the last question. There is no gate, no download form, and nothing is stored beyond your current browser session.
What should I do if I score Level 0 or 1?
Start with an inventory before writing any policy. Most organizations at this stage cannot see every model, agent, and third-party AI tool already running, and you cannot govern what you cannot see. The recommendations on your results page prioritize this first.
Can different teams in the same company score differently?
Yes, and that is common. A platform team with strict model review can sit at Level 3 while a business unit adopting AI tools ad hoc sits at Level 0. Consider running this per business unit if your organization is large or decentralized.
